The UK's CPI eased to 1.7% in August from the previous value of 2.1% on a yearly basis, trailing the market forecast of slowing to 1.9%, reported by Office for National Statistics.
The CPI including owner occupiers’ housing costs (CPIH) also decelerated to 1.7% yearly from the previous value of 2%, missing the consensus of easing to 1.9%.
