KNOWLEDGE ATLAS (02513.HK) CEO Zhang Peng, during an event, addressed the issue of the price hike for the GLM-5-Turbo model. He stated that the model's ability to handle complex tasks now involves longer reasoning chains and requires interaction with underlying infrastructure, resulting in the amount of tokens required to complete the task can be ten or even a hundred times that of a simple Q&A.

The price increase is a natural outcome of cost changes, as enhanced model capabilities also raise service costs, the CEO explained, hoping to return to a normal commercial value range.

Zhang also believed that long-term reliance on low-price competition is detrimental to the development of the entire industry. The price increase aims to create a healthy commercialization loop, continuously optimize model capabilities, and provide stable services.
