Since the adjustment of domestic refined oil prices on 9 March, international crude oil prices hiked significantly due to escalating conflicts between the US, Israel and Iran, particularly with Middle Eastern crude oil prices hitting historical new highs, the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) said.

To mitigate the impact of the abnormal rise in international oil prices, alleviate the burden on downstream users, and ensure stable economic operation and the people's livelihood, temporary control measures are being implemented on domestic refined oil prices within the existing pricing mechanism framework.
