While logistics disruptions in the Strait of Hormuz bring short-term cost pressures, it is still unlikely that China's core advantages in supply chain scale, support, and efficiency will be damaged, Cui Dongshu, Secretary-General of the China Passenger Car Association (CPCA), said in an article. Particularly, Cui stressed that the large scale of China's exports, high flexibility, and the significant fleet size of major car manufacturers highlight the cost advantages. Cui believes that the diverse response measures by car manufacturers will be more effective than those of other international car companies. The outlook for exports remains optimistic, as short-term disruptions in the Middle East market haven't changed the overall growth trend of Chinese auto exports. Only when the strait is blocked for more than three months, and the continuous interruption on Red Sea routes leads to large-scale delivery delays and order cancellations in the core Middle East market, will the CPCA consider revising down the Middle East export expectations after tracking quarterly data, Cui added.
