Japanese bourse rebounded, snapping a three-day losing streak, as Iran reportedly reached out to the US CIA seeking ceasefire talks, alleviating market concerns over the Mideast situation. The Nikkei opened 958 points higher, and initially leaped 2,374 points to peak at 56,619 before narrowing its gains. It closed the day up 1,032 points or 1.9% at 55,278. In the AI and semiconductor sector, SoftBank (9984.JP), Advantest (6857.JP), and Disco (6146.JP) jumped up 3.9-4.2%. Kioxia (285A.JP) spiked 5.5%. Lasertec (6920.JP) and Tokyo Electron (8035.JP) gained 1.4% and 2.5%, respectively. Semiconductor materials stock JX Advanced Metals Corporation (5016.JP) shot up 3.4%. Electric power stock Tokyo Electric Power Company (9501.JP) mounted 2%. In the heavy industry sector, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (7011.JP) and Kawasaki Heavy Industries (7012.JP) swelled 3.1% and 4%. Among trading companies, Marubeni (8002.JP) and Mitsubishi Corporation (8058.JP) surged 3.8% and 3.3%. In the banking sector, Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group (8306.JP) and Sumitomo Mitsui Financial Group (8316.JP) rallied 3.4% and 3.7%, with Mizuho Financial Group (8411.JP) growing by 6.4%.
