He Xiaopeng, Chairman of XPENG-W (09868.HK), revealed that the Company will bypass L3-level autonomous driving, and launch a mass-produced model with L4 capabilities in 2026. The definition of legal responsibilities for L3 is complex, with limited user value, He added. Hence, XPENG-W has chosen to focus resources on developing a L4 solution that does not rely on high definition maps. The Company also plans to complete the upgrade of high definition maps in major cities across China within the year to provide real-time data support for vehicles.
