Wu Bingxiang, Deputy Director of the Guangzhou Municipal Bureau of Commerce, announced at a press conference that Guangzhou will distribute RMB50 million in government-funded dining vouchers in several rounds before and after the Spring Festival, according to Chinese media reports. The initiative will also leverage platforms such as MEITUAN-W (03690.HK) and Douyin to launch more commercial discount coupons, offering local residents and visitors coming to Guangzhou for the Spring Festival a chance to enjoy special dining deals. Guangzhou will also mobilize e-commerce platforms and brand merchants like Vipshop (VIPS.US), JD-SW (09618.HK), and BABA-W (09988.HK) to precisely fulfill holiday demand, Wu added.
