US stock market was cautious about tech earnings, with the DJIA rebounding 0.6% overnight (26th). Hong Kong bourse advanced in the morning session. The HSI opened 97 points higher and sharpened its gains, up 423 points to peak at 27,188. It ended the morning up 290 points or 1.1% at 27,055. The HSCEI gained 78 points or 0.9% to 9,226. The HSTECH lifted 11 points or 0.2% to 5,737. The total market turnover for the half-day was HKD134.768 billion.

Financials steered the upswing of the local market, with HSBC HOLDINGS (00005.HK) up 2% to HKD133.6, HKEX (00388.HK) up 1.5%, and AIA (01299.HK) up 3.5% to HKD85.95. Among Chinese banks, CITIC BANK (00998.HK) and ABC (01288.HK) soared 2.4% and 2.6%. ICBC (01398.HK) added 1.9%. Among Chinese insurers, CHINA LIFE (02628.HK) swelled 3.6%. CHINA TAIPING (00966.HK), PICC GROUP (01339.HK), PING AN (02318.HK), and CPIC (02601.HK) soared 1.7-2.5%.

BABA-W (09988.HK)’s Qwen launched a new inference model, Qwen3-Max-Thinking, rivalling to GPT-5.2 and Gemini 3 Pro, shoring up the stock by 2.2%. SUNNY OPTICAL (02382.HK) submitted an application for its proposed spin-off listing of vehicle-related optical business, prompting the stock price to hike 0.4%. JD-SW (09618.HK) saw its JD Property file for listing again, with its stock down 1.4%.

Among other major techs, TENCENT (00700.HK) lifted 1.1%. MEITUAN-W (03690.HK) and BIDU-SW (09888.HK) lost 0.5% and 0.2%, respectively. NTES-S (09999.HK) faded 1.2%. KUAISHOU-W (01024.HK) and BILIBILI-W (09626.HK) gained 0.6% and 5.5%, respectively. ZIJIN GOLD INTL (02259.HK) announced a full acquisition of Allied Gold Corporation for RMB28 billion, with its stock leaping 10.6%, while ZIJIN MINING (02899.HK) shot up 4.1%.
