The total number of bankruptcy petitions in Hong Kong for the year 2025 was 10,021 cases, up 831 cases or approximately 9% YoY, marking the highest level since 2014, according to data from the Official Receiver's Office. The number of winding-up or bankruptcy orders issued by the court totaled 9,208 cases, up 655 cases or 7.7% YoY.
