Since US President Donald Trump imposed a blockade on sanctioned vessels transporting Venezuelan oil in December 2025, the number of tankers traveling from Venezuela to China significantly decreased, according to Reuters. This move was part of the US' pressure campaign against the then Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro, which ultimately escalated into a US military invasion and his capture. After the US claimed control over Venezuela, the number of tankers able to depart for Venezuela's largest crude oil buyer, China, has decreased, the report quoted traders and analysts as saying. It is expected that, from February, China's oil imports from Venezuela will decline sharply. AASTOCKS Financial News Website: www.aastocks.com |
