Morgan Stanley, in its research report, projected that 2026 will be a year when Chinese insurers outshine the market again. The key drivers include robust sales growth, better business quality, and a favorable investment environment. Regulatory policies, interest rate trends, and market investment sentiment are assumed to be the main catalysts tracking the overall industry performance, with upside in industry valuation. On the other hand, Chinese insurers will announce their earnings forecasts next month, with 2025's and 1Q26's results to be released at the end of March and April, respectively. Morgan Stanley believed these are important catalysts for tracking the upcycle of the sector. It forecast that PING AN (02318.HK) will post strong growth in NBV in 1Q26, while 2025's results were expected to meet market expectations. Morgan Stanley also assumed that CHINA LIFE (02628.HK) will issue a positive profit alert at the end of this month, bringing a slight surprise to the market.
