HSBC Says PCPD's Probe into PayMe A Compliance Review Only

It is reported that the Privacy Commissioner for Personal Data (PCPD) is investigating HSBC's electronic payment application, PayMe, over potential vulnerabilities in the protection of early users' personal data.

HSBC said in response to media inquiries that the PCPD had contacted them for a compliance review, and that they have not received any indication from any organization that PayMe has violated any privacy regulations.
