US President Donald Trump told The New York Times that he had already decided who would serve as the next Federal Reserve Chair, but he didn't reveal the name, adding that he hadn't yet discussed his decision with anyone.

Meanwhile, Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said that Rick Rieder, Chief Investment Officer for Bonds at BlackRock (BKR.US), hasn't yet been interviewed for the Fed Chair position. He also disclosed that the nomination is expected to be announced later this month, possibly around the time Trump travels to Davos for the World Economic Forum (January 19-23).
