The US Supreme Court has designated this Friday (9th) as an opinion day, marking the first opportunity for the court to rule on US President Donald Trump's global tariff policy.

The Supreme Court never says in advance which decisions will be announced, only that the justices will open a court session at 10 am Washington time and will release prepared judgments. Given the court's previous special arrangement for special case, it is highly likely that the tariff case will be announced this Friday.

Trump recently told House Republicans that he hopes the Supreme Court will do what is best for the country, and that the president must have the ability to use tariffs as a bargaining tool in negotiations.

However, based on the arguments from 5 November 2025, the court was skeptical about whether Trump has the authority to impose tariffs under a 1977 law.
