South Korean President Lee Jae-myung, who is on a state visit to China, attended the Korea-China Business Forum today (5th). He believed that the economic and trade relations between South Korea and China are deeply interconnected.

Given the changes in the global economic and trade landscape, accelerated technological advancements and the supply reorganization in the industrial chain, it is difficult to progress solely based on past inertia. Currently, the two countries are at a critical turning point for opening new channel for cooperation.

Facing changes inevitably leads to hesitation, and the current trade volume between South Korea and China remains at the scale of US$300 billion, Lee added.

Therefore, there is a need to explore new cooperation areas, particularly with AI as a future core technology. The two countries are expected to use this as a new engine for cooperation, promoting deeper collaboration in various fields such as manufacturing and services.
