Xiaomi Dismisses Claim of Xiaomi 17 Ultra Leica Edition's 'Zoom Ring Fraud' as Unfounded

A spokesperson for XIAOMI-W (01810.HK) stated that the company was aware of a large number of videos recently released by different social media accounts to deliberately distort the teardown content of the Xiaomi 17 Ultra Leica Edition made by a certain blogger. These videos claimed that the zoom ring was fraudulent and controlled by software, which, the spokesperson stressed, was severely inconsistent with the facts. In response to these malicious distortions, the original blogger had already issued a clarification. Regarding the structural principle of the zoom ring, XIAOMI-W clarified that the zoom ring mechanical structure of the Xiaomi 17 Ultra Leica Edition is complex and precise, driven by rotating the external zoom ring to move the internal gear set. The small gears in the gear set drive the gear shaft movement, and the optical displacement sensor on the side of the telephoto module detects the shaft displacement, accurately identifying the angle of the zoom ring rotation and converting it into an electrical signal, achieving innovative interaction for physical rotation control of the phone's zoom.
