Standard Chartered Bank (Hong Kong) and Prudential announced that they will jointly provide a one-off emergency relief payment of HKD20,000 to each eligible victim who is still or was hospitalized due to the Wang Fuk Court fire in Tai Po. The relief aims to help cover medical and daily living expenses. Details on how to apply will be announced later on the bank's and Prudential's official websites. At the same time, Standard Chartered announced a pre-approved six-month repayment grace period (covering both principal and interest) for affected customers' mortgage, personal, and credit card loans, with all penalty interest and handling fees waived to ease immediate financial pressure. The bank will also offer existing affected customers interest-free emergency loans of up to HKD50,000 for up to 24 months to help them meet urgent expenses. AAStocks Financial News |
