MO Hotel Association Envisions Xmas Occupancy Rate to Top 90%

Some Macau hotel operators indicated that international travelers value Christmas holidays for traveling abroad, and expected that hotel occupancy rates will break 90% during this period, Macao Daily News reported. Chair of the Macau Hotel Association, Wong Suk Yan, stated that various government departments actively organized mega events over the past year, attracting numerous tourists to Macau, and providing strong momentum for the hotel industry. The Macau hotel industry itself was also proactive, launching online and offline travel packages and utilizing government subsidies to conduct promotional activities, further expanding the customer base, Wong said. At the moment, the overall hotel occupancy rate in Macau has reached 50%. With the Christmas holidays this month, which are traditionally valued by international travelers, the occupancy rate in Macau is envisioned to surpass 90%, Wong said.
