HSBC HOLDINGS (00005.HK) entered into a multi-year agreement with French startup, Mistral AI, to integrate generative AI tools across various segments of the group, aiming to accelerate automation, lift productivity and improve customer service, with expectations to significantly reduce the time employees spend on daily tasks. Pursuant to the agreement, HSBC HOLDINGS will deploy Mistral's business model and future upgrades on a self-hosted basis, combining its internal technological capabilities with Mistral's model building. Meanwhile, the two companies will collaborate to develop AI solutions for tasks such as financial analysis, multilingual translation, risk assessment and personalized customer communication.
