<H Shrs>HSI Rebounds 358 Pts at Midday; NTES-S, KUAISHOU-W Rally 5%+; Chips Under Pressure

The HSI concluded the midday up 358 points or 1.4% at 25,578. The HSCEI rose 108 points or 1.2% to 9,028. The HSTECH climbed 88 points or 1.65% to 5,484. The total half-day market turnover reached HKD130.588 billion. The Hang Seng Indexes Company announced the results of its quarterly review. INNOVENT BIO (01801.HK) was added to the HSI and HSCEI, lifting its stock price by 3.6%. CHINAHONGQIAO (01378.HK) inched down 0.7%, while YUM CHINA (09987.HK) gained 0.5%. Both of them were added to the HSCEI. LEAPMOTOR (09863.HK), added to the HSTECH, rallied 6.5%. ASMPT (00522.HK), removed from the HSTECH, slid 1.8%. NEW ORIENTAL-S (09901.HK) and ENN ENERGY (02688.HK) leaped 1.5% and 1.3%, while HAIDILAO (06862.HK) fell 0.8%. All three of them were removed from the HSCEI. Among other tech stocks, BABA-W (09988.HK), set to release its quarterly results tomorrow (25th), shot up 4.1%. NTES-S (09999.HK) and KUAISHOU-W (01024.HK) mushroomed 5.7% and 5.2%. BIDU-SW (09888.HK) jumped 3%. TENCENT (00700.HK) and MEITUAN-W (03690.HK) ticked up 2.1% and 2.5%. With JingDong Industrials having passed the Hong Kong Stock Exchange listing hearing, JD-SW (09618.HK) grew 1.5%. XIAOMI-W (01810.HK) swelled 0.7%. In addition, CHINA LIT (00772.HK), TME-SW (01698.HK), GDS-SW (09698.HK), and MEITU (01357.HK) escalated 3.1-4%. Chip stocks SMIC (00981.HK) and HUA HONG SEMI (01347.HK) plunged 5.2% and 9.4% amid reports saying that the US is discussing the sale of Nvidia H200 chips to China. Car maker NIO-SW (09866.HK) went up 3.8%. Its peers BYD COMPANY (01211.HK) and SERES (09927.HK) also hiked 2.7% and 2.6%. XPENG-W (09868.HK) advanced 2%. AAStocks Financial News |
