An AI startup in Mainland China, Moonshot AI, is close to completing a new round of funding, with the company's valuation expected to rise to approximately US$4 billion, the Wall Street Journal reported, citing people familiar with the matter. Moonshot AI is in discussions with several global investment institutions, including IDG Capital, regarding this funding round, which could raise hundreds of millions of US dollars, sources divulged. Other potential investors include existing shareholder TENCENT (00700.HK). Moonshot AI aims to complete the financing by the end of this year and plans to launch an IPO in the second half of next year, the report also cited potential investors as saying.
