At midday, the HSI plummeted 535 points, or 2.1%, to settle at 25,300; the HSCEI dived 195 points, or 2.1%, to 8,947; and the HSTECH shed 173 points, or 3.1%, to 5,401. Total turnover for the morning session was HK$150.474 billion. AI concept stocks shrank. BABA-W (09988.HK) and BIDU-SW (09888.HK) dived 4.1% and 6.6% respectively. MEITU (01357.HK) stumbled 5.4%, and GDS-SW (09698.HK) fell off 3.6%. Chip stocks SMIC (00981.HK) and HUA HONG SEMI (01347.HK) each plunged 5.3%, and chip equipment stock ASMPT (00522.HK) cratered 5.8%. Telecom infrastructure-related stocks ZTE (00763.HK) and YOFC (06869.HK) slipped 4% and 5.8% respectively. Healthcare stocks, expected to ride on AI, were meager. Healthcare platforms JD HEALTH (06618.HK) and ALI HEALTH (00241.HK) tumbled 7.2% and 4.8% respectively. PA GOODDOCTOR (01833.HK) slid 3.5%. Pharmaceuticals INNOVENT BIO (01801.HK), GENSCRIPT BIO (01548.HK), PHARMARON (03759.HK), and WUXI BIO (02269.HK) lost 4.8-5.4%. SINO BIOPHARM (01177.HK), WUXI APPTEC (02359.HK), and CSPC PHARMA (01093.HK) collapsed 3.8-4.4%. For other techs, TENCENT (00700.HK) faded 1.6% to HK$611. XIAOMI-W (01810.HK) dipped 0.8%. JD-SW (09618.HK), KUAISHOU-W (01024.HK), and MEITUAN-W (03690.HK) plunged 2.6-3.1%. In the auto sector, BYD COMPANY (01211.HK) eroded 2.2%. XPENG-W (09868.HK), LEAPMOTOR (09863.HK), and SERES (09927.HK) cascaded 3.4-4.5%. NIO-SW (09866.HK) deteriorated 5.7%. Battery stock CATL (03750.HK) subsided 4.3%.
