MO Govt Projects 2026 GGR MOP236B; Civil Servants' Salaries Frozen for 2nd Yr

The Macau government anticipates that the tourism industry in Macau will continue to develop under various favorable factors in the next fiscal year (2026). In view of the uncertainties in the external environment and economic conditions, and based on prudent financial management principles, the government estimates the GGR for 2026 to be MOP236 billion. Previously, the government had estimated the GGR for 2025 to be MOP240 billion in 2025's fiscal budget proposal, later adjusting it down to MOP228 billion. According to data from the Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau, the GGR for 10M25 reached MOP205.427 billion, up 8% YoY. After considering the opinions of the Civil Servants' Remuneration Council, the salary point amount of civil servants in Macau will remain unchanged next year, the authorities also stated. During the pandemic, civil servants' salaries were frozen for four years, and the previous Macau SAR government only adjusted salaries once during its five-year term until 2024.
