TikTok's Singaporean chief executive Shou Zi Chew will expand his remit to take charge of ByteDance's content-sharing platform Lemon8, according to the US tech media The Information. Lemon8 is a video and photo-sharing app, which is speculated by some to compete with Instagram. Lemon8 and TikTok are both owned by ByteDance. Lemon8 was first launched in Japan back in March 2020, and soon expanded to Southeast Asian countries such as Thailand and Singapore, and went online in the United States last year.
