According to Nikkei, citing sources, surging demand for AI computing power has led to tight supply of key computing components. Intel Corporation (INTC.US) is asking its laptop and personal computer manufacturing customers to increase adoption of CPUs built using its 18A process technology, which was only launched at the end of last year.It is understood that the older Intel 7 process is still used to manufacture CPUs for laptops, personal computers, servers and industrial computers. However, Intel Corporation has prioritized supply of such chips for server and industrial applications.
