According to Reuters, Space Exploration Technologies Corp (SpaceX), the space technology startup owned by US billionaire Elon Musk, disclosed in its filing for an initial public offering that it has a large-scale spending plan for the development of artificial intelligence and other technologies, and has listed in-house manufacturing of GPU chips as one of its major ongoing capital expenditure projects.The filing also mentioned that the company has not entered into long-term agreements with many of its direct chip suppliers, and it expects to continue procuring most of its computing hardware from third-party suppliers. It cannot guarantee that it will achieve its Terafab targets within the expected timeframe, or at all.
