The Digital Policy Office has once again established a large Smart Hong Kong pavilion at the fourth Hong Kong International Innovation and Technology Expo held this year, showcasing more than 100 technology solutions that benefit citizens and businesses through interactive experiences and live demonstrations.The pavilion, themed "AI+ Hong Kong", focuses on demonstrating the application of artificial intelligence across different sectors in Hong Kong. It features innovation and technology solutions from more than 20 government departments and public organizations, as well as award-winning projects from the local innovation and technology sector and students in various competitions.Among the highlighted exhibits under "AI+ Robotics Innovation" are the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department's autonomous cleaning robots, which reduce the physical workload of cleaning staff; the Housing Authority's construction robots, which use AI path planning to enhance site safety; and the Water Supplies Department's "Smart Guardian Dog", which conducts automated patrols to monitor water facilities.Under "AI+ Infrastructure Development", the Development Bureau's "Smart Eye" monitoring platform enables round-the-clock remote supervision of construction sites; the Drainage Services Department's "Miao Yi Xi" flood prediction system provides real-time forecasting for flood prevention; and the Housing Authority's AI-based pile foundation design system generates precise plans to accelerate decision-making.In the area of "AI+ Low-altitude Economy", the pavilion showcases the Hong Kong Fire Services Department's emergency incident detection drone patrol system, which uses AI image analysis to issue real-time alerts for mountain fires and drowning incidents, as well as the Hong Kong Police Force's small drone deployment pilot programme to support patrol operations and enhance community safety.
