BMW Brilliance and BMW China have filed a recall plan with China's State Administration for Market Regulation, involving domestically produced 5 Series, imported 5 Series, 7 Series, and M5 models, totaling around 180,000 vehicles. The production dates of the vehicles covered by the recall range from June 2022 to April 2025.

The vehicles within the recall scope may have improperly routed air conditioning harnesses in the front cabin, which could be damaged when replacing the air filter element in the aftermarket. In extreme cases, this could lead to a short circuit in the harness, posing a fire risk.
