Li Qiang, the Chinese Premier, on behalf of the State Council, delivered a government work report to the Fourth Session of the 14th National People's Congress (NPC), acknowledging achievements while also recognizing the difficulties and challenges faced, according to Xinhua News Agency.

Li emphasized that the supporting conditions and fundamental trend of China's positive long-term economic condition remain unchanged, with its institutional strengths and advantages as a great power becoming increasingly evident.

Having weathered storms, China's resolve has grown stronger and its stride more resolute. By fully leveraging its strengths and effectively addressing challenges, China's development prospects will undoubtedly become even more promising.

To implement the goals and tasks of the 15th Five-Year Plan, strategic, guiding and continuity considerations have been integrated, with a draft outline proposing 109 major projects across six areas, according to the government work report.

In advancing the development of new quality productive forces, 28 initiatives were proposed focusing on enhancing industrial foundational capabilities and competitiveness, cultivating and developing new industries and emerging sectors, tackling frontier technological challenges, and strengthening innovation infrastructure capability.
