China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) and seven other departments jointly released the Implementation Plan for High-Quality Development of the Traditional Chinese Medicine Industry (2026-2030).

The plan proposes that, by 2030, a preliminary coordinated development system for the entire traditional Chinese medicine industrial chain will be established. The stable supply capacity of key raw materials will be further enhanced, while digitalization, intelligence and green transformation will be significantly improved.

Breakthroughs in a number of key technologies will be achieved, and the level of industrial collaborative innovation will be sharply elevated. The quality of development will be significantly improved, with the economies of scale of the traditional Chinese medicine industry steadily increasing.

The level of industrial intensification will be markedly increased, while quality management level will be substantially advanced. A group of leading enterprises with outstanding guiding and driving capabilities will be cultivated within the traditional Chinese medicine industry, alongside the development of 60 high-standard production bases for traditional Chinese medicines' raw materials.
