TENCENT (00700.HK)  -2.000 (-0.335%)    Short selling $342.02M; Ratio 5.908%   recently accelerated its AI team restructuring and model updates, Citi Research issued a research report saying. It is expected that the management might share the latest AI strategy during the earnings release conference, particularly regarding the upgrade of the agentic AI' WeChat ecosystem.

Given that TENCENT's share price has declined by 0.25% YTD, underperforming the market, the broker saw this as a better buying opportunity. Therefore, Citi Research reiterated rating at Buy, lifted its target price to $783 based on forecasts extended to 2027, and opened a 90-day positive catalyst watch.

TENCENT is scheduled to announce its 4Q25 results on 18 March, with expected solid results performance mainly driven by resilient growth in domestic and international gaming businesses, stable advertising revenue and strong growth in overseas cloud business, partially offsetting the sluggish fintech business.

Considering the Company's increased investment in AI talent, capital expenditure and AI model/ Yuanbao promotion, the broker anticipated that the gap between revenue growth and gross/ operating profit growth in 4Q25 may narrow.
