The childcare subsidy for 2026 in Mainland China is fully open for application starting from January 5, as Xinhua News Agency learnt from the National Health Commission.

The major change in the online application for the 2026 childcare subsidy is the addition of a renewal function based on the 2025 basic features, according to introduction.

This means that infants and toddlers who have already been applied for the 2025 childcare subsidy and meet the conditions for continued application in the new year can have their applicants proceed with renewal applications.

By far, all 31 provinces nationwide have disbursed the 2025 childcare subsidy, with a total number of recipients exceeding 24 million people. The issuance rate for the 2025 childcare subsidy is approximately 80%.
