U.S. President Donald Trump reportedly softened his stance on China to secure a meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping and reach a trade agreement. Hong Kong bourse started higher, with the HSI up 29 points or 0.1% at 24,547; the HSCEI up 8 points or 0.1% at 8,869, and the HSTECH nearly flat, down less than 1 point at 5,417.
