US new private payroll data for May missed expectations, with markets now eyeing the upcoming non-farm payroll report. The DJIA ended a four-day winning streak, closing down 91 points, or 0.2%, while the Nasdaq edged up 0.3%, uplifted by META.

China Securities Journal reported that further reserve requirement ratio (RRR) cuts by the People’s Bank of China (PBOC) are not ruled out, boosting Hong Kong bourse’s morning session. The HSI opened 174 points, or 0.7%, higher at 23,828. The HSCEI gained 66 points, or 0.8%, to 8,643. The HSTECH grew 50 points, or 1%, to 5,269.
