The 618 shopping festival officially commenced last Friday (May 30) at 8 pm, according to JD.com's official WeChat account. On top of subsidies where each person can receive over RMB6,180 per day, the company has further ramped up its 618 subsidies.

In the first hour of the event, JD.com saw transaction volume, order quantity, and the number of users placing orders surge by over two times YoY, with transaction volumes of over 20,000 brands even growing by more than 3 times YoY.

In addition, the transaction volume of the electrical product category expanded its lead, which soared by over 380% YoY in the first hour. Specifically, the transaction volumes of brands such as Apple, Xiaomi, Midea, and Huawei quickly surpassed RMB100 million, and over 500 home appliance and home furnishing brands experienced transaction volume growth of over 10 times YoY. The transaction volumes of China's top ten smart home appliance brands also climbed by more than five times YoY.
