MTR CORPORATION (00066.HK)  -0.460 (-1.713%)    Short selling $132.24M; Ratio 40.120%   experienced a power supply failure on the Tseung Kwan O Line, causing a near three-hour suspension of service on Thursday (22nd) evening, with full line service resuming after 10:30 pm.

MTR CORPORATION apologized for the inconvenience caused to passengers, and explained that it was due to an obstruction in the power supply.

Secretary for Transport and Logistics, Mable Chan, expressed grave concern over the successive incidents of MTR CORPORATION in recent months, and requested MTR CORPORATION to submit a report on the faults of the overhead cable and signaling system involved in the incident within a day, as well as to comprehensively review the system and areas such as risk assessment, emergency notification system and maintenance, etc.; and to give an account of the incident to the Subcommittee on Matters Relating to Railways of the Legislative Council on next Monday (26th).
