In the US, the DJIA ebbed back 114 points, or 0.3%, overnight (21st). In China, the State Council Information Office will hold a press conference tomorrow afternoon (22nd) to brief tech finance policies, boosting Hong Kong's morning market.

The HSI opened 54 points higher, later peaking at 23,884 with a gain of 203 points. By midday, it ended up 125 points, or 0.5%, at 23,807. The HSCEI gained 58 points, or 0.7%, to 8,647. The HSTECH mounted 22 points, or 0.4%, to 5,338. Total morning turnover reached HK$119.298 billion.
