According to the group, the expected decrease in its net profit was mainly due to its turnover declining by 10-11% YoY. Within this turnover in the group's core market of Hong Kong and Macau, which accounted for around 76% of the group's total turnover, is expected to drop by 11-12% YoY. This was due to the ongoing trend of Hong Kong residents tripping north to Mainland China and abroad and the changes in travel habits of Mainland Chinese tourists in Hong Kong and Macau that showed a preference for experiential travel rather than shopping-centric trips. Coupled with the continuous strong USD, these might lead to a decrease in spending in Hong Kong and Macau by tourists.
