AIA, PRU Reportedly Hire New Senior Executives in HK to Fortify Asian Wealth Biz

AIA (01299.HK) and PRU (02378.HK) created new senior roles to strengthen their wealth management businesses, Bloomberg reported, citing people familiar with the matter. Chirag Rathod recently assumed a newly created position at AIA as CEO of Global High Net Worth Business at its Hong Kong subsidiary. Meanwhile, Donna Cotter joined PRU this month as CEO of Wealth and Bermuda Business, which is also a newly established role. AXA also launched a platform this month enabling high net worth clients to purchase insurance policies through its offices in Hong Kong and Bermuda. Insurers are increasingly shifting their focus toward Asia’s expanding affluent population. As wealth flows into Hong Kong and Singapore, mainland Chinese residents are pursuing higher returns, while rising geopolitical tensions are driving stronger demand among wealthy clients for asset protection.
