In response to market rumors that BABA-W (09988.HK) Chief Scientist Zhou Jingren will leave his post, Alibaba Group stated that the claim of "Zhou Jingren resignation" is purely a rumor. The group noted that in recent days some individuals have organized and spread the rumor online, and urged the public not to disseminate false information. Zhou joined Alibaba in 2016 and is one of the few executives with a purely technical background to enter Alibaba's top decision-making body, public information showed. He was also a key figure in building the Tongyi large model team, as well as in the development of the Qwen series models. Alibaba carried out an organizational restructuring last Monday (8th), with the Tongyi Business Unit merged into Token Foundry.
