Wang Jian, founder of Alibaba Cloud, said that AI has already brought about a qualitative change in scientific research, and its impact on science will be very long-lasting. From the earliest large language models (LLMs) that could only understand textual content to now being able to comprehend multimodal data and understand code, the core behind these changes is that AI can interpret different types of data. He noted that AI has already changed the way programmers work. AI has taken a leap forward and, in a sense, can distinguish between natural language text and code text. All scientific data will be reinterpreted because of the emergence of AI. However, he was not convinced that AI will replace humans. Using dogs as an example, he pointed out that while a dog’s sense of smell is far more sensitive than that of humans, it does not pose any harm to humanity. AASTOCKS Financial News |
