US President Donald Trump announced the cancellation of a previously planned military strike against Iran, claiming that Iran’s leadership had approved a memorandum of understanding that would extend the ceasefire, reopen the Strait of Hormuz, and launch 60-day negotiations over Iran’s nuclear program.

Iran said that no final decision has been made and that signing the agreement remains under consideration. However, Axios reported that the latest talks between Iranian officials and Qatari mediators have narrowed key differences.
