TENCENT To Keep Procuring Intl Chips, Strengthen Co-op with Domestic Chipmakers

The US approved sales of H200 chips to 10 Chinese companies including TENCENT (00700.HK), earlier report said. Dowson Tong, Senior Executive Vice President of TENCENT (00700.HK) and CEO of Cloud and Smart Industries Group, responded that the company has maintained long-term partnerships with international chipmakers including NVIDIA Corporation (NVDA.US) and Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. (AMD.US), with opportunities to use their chips in both domestic and overseas businesses. Addressing exponential growth in computing power demand in the AI era, TENCENT will continue procuring advanced international chips including H200, while in recent years it has also strengthened cooperation with domestic chipmakers to achieve a diversified supply chain. He added that the government supports the company's expansion of computing power infrastructure. In addition, he mentioned that Yuanbao has so far had no ToC commercialization plan, but will continue expanding into more lifestyle services and WeChat Mini Programs. Tencent Cloud also announced the launch of new products and tools for its enterprise-level AI technology architecture targeting the global market, including Tencent WorkBuddy, Tencent Design Miora, and TokenHub.
