Hong Kong stocks opened higher in the morning session. The HSI opened 377 points or 1.55% higher at 24,759. The HSCEI opened 89 points or 1.1% higher at 8,396. The HSTECH opened 61 points or 1.3% higher at 4,773.

For financials, HSBC HOLDINGS (00005.HK) leaped 3.9% to $123.5, while HKEX (00388.HK) jumped up 1.7%. AIA (01299.HK) ballooned 4.3% to $82.75.

Oil prices plummeted, with CNOOC (00883.HK) slipping 2% to $29.9. SINOPEC CORP (00386.HK) climbed 2%. Metal commodity prices rebounded. Gold miners ZIJIN MINING (02899.HK) and SD GOLD (01787.HK) ascended 2.6% and 2.2%, while ZHAOJIN MINING (01818.HK) and CHINAGOLDINTL (02099.HK) mounted 3% and 4.1%. LINGBAO GOLD (03330.HK) advanced 5.5%.

Resources stocks CMOC (03993.HK) and MMG (01208.HK) swelled 4.2% and 6.5%, while CHALCO (02600.HK) and JIANGXI COPPER (00358.HK) mushroomed 2.4% and 2.6%. Gold jewelry retailer LAOPU GOLD (06181.HK), which expected its 1Q26 net profit to be approx. RMB3.6-3.8 billion, surged 10.5%.
