Applied Materials (AMAT.US) announced the establishment of a partnership with Micron Technology (MU.US) and SK Hynix to develop next-generation chips tailor-made for AI and high-performance computing.

Micron and SK Hynix will become founding partners of Applied Materials' EPIC Center, collaborating on chip development. Applied Materials stated that the EPIC Center represents a USD5 billion investment in chip research and development projects.
