Mercedes-Benz and Geely Holding Group are engaging in deep cooperation on the electronic and electrical architecture of vehicles, according to Chinese media reports.

Based on Geely's GEEA4.0 architecture, Mercedes-Benz intends to create a new pure electric vehicle (EV) platform codenamed "Phoenix", which will cover compact product lines such as A-Class, B-Class, GLA, GLB, and CLA.

This platform is expected to achieve mass production by 2030, and it will gradually replace Mercedes-Benz's existing MMA platform, which uses a hybrid powertrain.

It is said that Mercedes-Benz and Geely have been in intensive contact since late January, and further cooperation details were finalized in Shanghai in early February. Both sides have already reached a preliminary consensus.
