The Strait of Hormuz is now completely under the control of the Iranian Navy, according to a report by Fars News Agency yesterday (3rd), citing Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Navy official Mohammad Akbarzadeh.

The strait has been repeatedly warned to be in a state of war, and any vessel could be hit by shells or drones, he said. However, more than ten oil tankers ignored the warnings and were subsequently hit by shells and burned.

He stressed that after Iran declared the Strait of Hormuz off-limits, oil tankers, merchant ships, and fishing vessels are unable to pass through the strait.

Furthermore, US Central Command (CENTCOM) Commander General Brad Cooper stated that the US military destroyed 17 Iranian vessels, including a submarine, and targeted nearly 2,000 Iranian targets.

The US military immensely undermined Iran's air defense systems, destroying hundreds of Iranian ballistic missiles, launch devices, and drones, Cooper said.
