The HSI opened 232 points higher, or 0.9%, at 25,452; the HSCEI opened 71 points higher, or 0.8%, at 8,991; and the HSTECH opened 61 points higher, or 1.1%, at 5,456. The Hang Seng Indexes Company announced the results of its quarterly review. INNOVENT BIO (01801.HK) was added to the HSI and HSCEI, opening 1.9% higher. CHINAHONGQIAO (01378.HK) and YUM CHINA (09987.HK), added to the HSCEI, opened 1% and 0.3% higher, respectively. LEAPMOTOR (09863.HK), added to the HSTECH, opened 3.2% higher, while ASMPT (00522.HK), removed from the HSTECH, opened 1.7% lower. NEW ORIENTAL-S (09901.HK) and HAIDILAO (06862.HK) opened 2.9% and 0.8% higher, respectively, although both were removed from the HSCEI but retained their blue-chip status. Among other techs, BABA-W (09988.HK) opened 0.1% higher at HK$147.8. TENCENT (00700.HK) opened 0.8% higher at HK$615. MEITUAN-W (03690.HK) opened 0.5% higher at HK$96.05. NTES-S (09999.HK) opened 3.2% higher. XIAOMI-W (01810.HK), JD-SW (09618.HK), BIDU-SW (09888.HK), and KUAISHOU-W (01024.HK) opened 1.5-2.1% higher. BILIBILI-W (09626.HK) opened 1% higher.
