Samsung, SK Hynix Shares Slump on Reported Combined USD1.3T Investment Plan Over Next Decade

South Korean President Lee Jae Myung will hold a press conference at 2 p.m. local time today (29th), during which Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix are expected to unveil large-scale investment plans.

The two companies are projected to pour up to KRW2,000 trillion (approximately USD1.3 trillion) over the next decade.

Samsung’s share price in South Korea last dived 3.43% to KRW327,500, while SK Hynix dropped 1.72% to KRW2,627,000. In Hong Kong, XL2CSOPHYNIX (07709.HK) slid 8.89%, whereas XL2CSOPSMSN (07747.HK) slumped 10.24%.

Samsung’s ten-year investment plan will involve KRW1,000 trillion (approximately USD646 billion), covering the construction of semiconductor plants, AI data centers, advanced packaging, batteries and display panels, Korean media reported.
