CN Ambassador to Canada: GEELY AUTO to Deliver First Batch of Lotus EVs to Canada Next Mth
2026-06-29 08:30:31 In accordance with an agreement reached between Chinese President Xi Jinping and Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney, GEELY AUTO (00175.HK) will deliver the first batch of vehicles under its luxury automobile brand Lotus to Canada next month, Wang Di, Chinese Ambassador to Canada, said. This will mark the first time that Chinese-owned and Chinese-manufactured vehicles are sold in Canada. Under the agreement, Canada will allow up to 49,000 Chinese EVs per year to be sold locally at lower tariffs. Wang noted that, in addition to GEELY AUTO, other Chinese brands such as CHERY AUTO (09973.HK) and BYD COMPANY (01211.HK) are also coordinating with the Canadian government.
